Classes cancelled at Winston Knoll Collegiate – Friday, October 9

OCTOBER 9, 2020 -- At approximately 11:00 a.m., we were informed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority that a positive case of COVID-19 was identified at Winston Knoll Collegiate. The individual was last in the school on Tuesday, October 6th. Putting safety first, we have decided to cancel all classes this afternoon. Accommodations will be made for families who are unable to pick-up their student. We will contact all school families with further information by the end of the day of Monday, October 12th.

Revised Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocols

OCTOBER 5, 2020 -- As part of its reopening plan, Regina Public Schools developed heightened cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Following best practices and safety recommendations, the school division began to disinfect all surfaces with a product called Vital Oxide. This product, which is misted on to surfaces, kills viruses, including the coronavirus and is safe to be used around children and adults. It is non-toxic and not considered hazardous by OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 2012. More information about Vital Oxide is available here.

Public School Board Trustee Elections

September 14, 2020 -- The next general election will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020.

Board members are elected on the basis of seven subdivisions. These subdivisions are not the same as the wards for electing city councilors. Under the subdivision system, each elector votes for only one candidate from the list of those candidates seeking election in the subdivision in which the elector in running. The Board of Education will be comprised of the winning candidates from each subdivision.

Collegiate Quint Schedule Announced

Collegiate Quint Schedule Announced August 25, 2020 -- Regina Public Schools announces its collegiate scheduling plan which will be based on a "quint" schedule for 2020-21. This scheduling plan is designed to support the health and safety of students and staff members.

A quint schedule means students will be taking two classes per day while maintaining the option to achieve 10 credits per school year.

Elementary Registration Procedure

AUGUST 12, 2020 -- This year, because of COVID-19, we are encouraging all NEW elementary student registrations to be completed online by going to www.reginapublicschools.ca/registration. Only students new to a school need to go through the registration process.

For those who are unable to register electronically, please call your school's main office for in-person options.

Thursday, August 27, 2020 - Schools are closed.

Friday, August 28 and Monday, August 31, 2020 - Elementary schools will accept in-person registrations if required.
